Issues

Rhode Island has a long legacy of economic prosperity. For decades, we were a manufacturing powerhouse – and with manufacturing driving our economic growth, we were able to grow a healthy, prosperous middle class. Our state thrived, and so did our families.

Investing in our infrastructure is one of the fastest ways we can put people to work and improve our quality of life.

To get more people to work in good jobs, we must re-design our schools for success in the 21st century and consistently improve our student performance. It starts in our elementary, middle and high schools. With my own children in public school, I have a personal stake in this, too.

Income and social inequality across our country -- and here in Rhode Island -- threatens to leave far too many people behind.

Interactions with our state government can sometimes be burdensome and confusing, with an arbitrary decision-making process. We will fix the way our state bureaucracy works with citizens, assuring top-quality customer service.

In a state as closely-knit as Rhode Island, we are all each other’s neighbors.

Climate change threatens to impact Rhode Island more than any other state.
